Stratum Skin ("we", "us", "our") operates the Stratum skin barrier analysis survey and the Stratum application (together, the "Service") at stratumskin.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.

We are committed to complying with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Please read this policy carefully before submitting your information.

2. What information we collect

We collect the following personal information when you complete our survey:

Your email address (if you choose to provide it for the prize draw or waitlist)
Your survey responses, including skincare habits, spending, preferences, and skin type
Your referral code and the referral code of the person who referred you (if applicable)
A timestamp of when you submitted the survey

Providing your email address is entirely optional. You may complete and submit the survey anonymously. Anonymous submissions are recorded without any identifying information.

3. Why we collect your information

We collect your information for the following purposes:

To record and analyse survey responses for the purpose of product development and market research
To enter you in the Stratum prize draw (if you have opted in)
To add you to the Stratum early access waitlist (if you have opted in)
To contact you if you are a prize draw winner
To understand referral patterns for the purpose of awarding additional draw entries

We will not use your information for any purpose other than those listed above without your explicit consent.

4. Marketing communications

If you join the early access waitlist, we may contact you about the Stratum product launch. We will not send you unsolicited marketing communications. You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us at hello@stratumskin.app.

5. How we store your information

Survey responses are stored in a Google Sheets spreadsheet hosted on Google LLC infrastructure (Google Workspace). Google LLC is subject to its own privacy and data protection frameworks. For more information on how Google stores data, visit policies.google.com.

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.

6. Who we share your information with

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for commercial purposes. We have no affiliate relationships, brand partnerships, or advertising arrangements.

Your information may be accessed by:

The founding team of Stratum Skin for the purposes of product development and research
Google LLC as the infrastructure provider for data storage (see clause 5)

We will not disclose your personal information to any other party unless required to do so by law.

7. Overseas disclosure

Your personal information is stored on Google LLC servers which may be located outside Australia, including in the United States. By submitting this survey you consent to this transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure any overseas recipients handle your information in a manner consistent with the APPs.

8. Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
Request deletion of your personal information
Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)

9. Cookies and tracking

The Stratum survey does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or any third-party analytics tools. No browsing data is collected.

10. Children

The Stratum survey is intended for persons aged 18 years and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from persons under the age of 18. If you believe a person under 18 has submitted information, please contact us at hello@stratumskin.app and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify waitlist members by email. The current version is always available at stratumskin.app/privacy.
